Field Service Engineer

The Field Service Engineer plays a key role in supporting TGW’s customers, ensuring that systems remain reliable, efficient, and fully operational. This position draws on a strong blend of electrical, mechanical, and software expertise to maintain, repair, and enhance automated equipment across a range of sites.

Working across the UK and Europe, the role combines preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and involvement in both project delivery and new installations. It also provides essential support across residential sites, helping to maintain continuity during periods of holiday or absence.

As a representative of TGW, you will be expected to deliver a consistently professional service while building strong working relationships with customers. The role requires flexibility, including travel and overnight stays, and offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on customer satisfaction and operational performance.

WHAT YOU’LL BE HANDLING

You will also contribute to on-call support, responding to urgent issues and ensuring minimal disruption to customer operations.

To succeed in this role, you will bring a solid engineering background along with a practical, problem-solving approach. You should have:

  • A recognised electrical qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds)
  • Experience in a multi-skilled engineering role within an automated environment
  • The ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues, including basic PLC fault finding
  • Flexibility to travel and work away across the UK and Europe
  • The capability to work at height and complete rescue-at-height training

The following would be advantageous, but not essential:

  • Previous experience in a field-based role
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems

WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE

  • Strong earning potential with significant uplift through overtime, allowances, standby and on-call
  • Company car (plug-in hybrid, personal use allowed)

  • Claimable tool allowance
  • Medicash health cash plan
  • Option to purchase additional holidays
