Field Service Team Leader

The Field Service Team Leader is responsible for managing a team of Field Service Engineers, delivering planned and reactive service activities across customer sites. They lead on-site activity, and support escalations across Lifetime Services (LTS), including some project and installation involvement. The role involves significant travel and occasional extended stays across the UK and Europe. Good communication skills are required to ensure that professional relationships are developed and maintained. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE HANDLING

  • Take the lead on projects and tasks within the field service team
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Field Service Engineers
  • Involvement in system audits and complex fault diagnostics
  • Assist TGW Stakeholders with gathering technical information on products
  • Deliver monthly 1:1s and performance reviews with direct reports
  • Collaborate with LTS sites, Retrofit, Project and Site teams for seamless project support
  • Support the recruitment, induction and onboarding of new team members
  • Ensure the staff you are responsible for are trained and kept up to date on Health & Safety Legislation and safe working procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement in service processes and team performance
  • Be pro-active, consider ways in which TGW can add more value to our customer’s business
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews with the Field Services Manager

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Required

  • Experience managing or supervising engineering teams     
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capability      
  • Excellent communication, written and leadership skills     
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including extended trips            
  • Strong understanding of automated material handling systems     
  • Experience working on customer sites in high-pressure environments        
  • Full UK driving licence          
  • Comfortable working at height        

 Preferred             

  • Experience with installation, upgrade or project-based service work           
  • Several years experience in a similar role  
  • HNC or equivalent in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
