Finance Assistant - Part-Time (30hrs)

The Finance Assistant plays an important role in supporting the Finance function's smooth, efficient operation. 

They process invoices, manage supplier queries, review expenses, maintain payment schedules, and support month-end activities. 

They contribute to the overall success and growth of TGW through attention to detail, excellent customer service, and a focus on continuous improvement.

They help ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and reliable.

WHAT YOU’LL BE HANDLING

  • Process purchase invoices and credit notes relating to projects, overheads, and travel, ensuring compliance with the company approval matrix
  • Investigate and resolve supplier invoice queries in a timely, professional, and proactive manner
  • Administer purchase ledger activities, including statement reconciliations, identification of missing invoices and credit notes, review of held invoices, and management of invoice releases for payment
  • Verify and process employee expense claims, timesheets, and time recording to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Update and maintain customer payment schedules and sales payment plans
  • Manage the shared finance mailbox, responding to internal and external queries efficiently and directing correspondence as appropriate
  • Support the month-end reporting process through the preparation and provision of accurate financial information
  • Create, maintain, and review sales orders within the time recording system
  • Provide general administrative and business support as required to meet departmental and organisational objectives

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Previous experience of processing purchase invoices and expenses
  • Ability to assist with sales ledger and credit control duties
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good working understanding of all Microsoft Office packages
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement within the department
  • Knowledge of order processing software, for example Microsoft Dynamics
  • Previous experience of working with an engineering project accounting environment desirable
