IT Project Manager

We’re looking for an IT Project Manager to join our IT Project Management team, taking a key role in the delivery of our Warehouse Control System (WCS) projects.

Sitting at the heart of project delivery, you’ll bring together our technical teams, wider project colleagues and customers to ensure the IT element of our solutions is effectively planned, developed, tested, commissioned and delivered.

You’ll have ownership across the project lifecycle, helping to make sure we deliver against the agreed time, cost and quality, while keeping our teams and customers informed along the way.

WHAT YOU’LL BE HANDLING

This is a varied role where you’ll be connecting the technical detail with the bigger project picture.

You’ll work closely with our WCS development teams, Project Managers and customers, taking responsibility for IT delivery plans and making sure resources, priorities and timescales remain aligned.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Creating and maintaining detailed IT delivery plans, keeping progress and resource requirements visible.
Coordinating testing and commissioning, ensuring we have the right plans, documentation and people in place.
Managing IT project risks and issues, identifying potential problems early and putting mitigation plans in place.
Keeping a close eye on budgets, resources and project variations, making sure any impact on cost or timescales is understood and communicated.
Leading and coordinating cross-functional teams including developers, analysts and QA.
Providing clear project updates to customers, internal teams and senior management.

A really important part of the role is the customer relationship. You’ll build strong relationships with the customer’s IT representatives and act as one of their key TGW contacts throughout the project. You’ll help make sure they understand where we are, what’s coming next and how we’re responding to any challenges along the way.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

We’re looking for someone who combines strong project management skills with an understanding of technical delivery.

You’ll ideally bring:

Experience leading technical teams within a project environment.
Experience delivering warehouse IT systems, with knowledge of warehouse or production start-ups an advantage.
The ability to understand technical challenges and work with specialist teams to find practical solutions.
Strong organisation and planning skills, with experience of working to deadlines and budgets.
Confidence communicating with customers and stakeholders at different levels.
A collaborative approach and the ability to lead and motivate teams in a busy, time-sensitive environment.
