Manager - Java Full Stack
We are looking for a Manager – Java Full Stack with 10–15 years of experience to join our Global Software Engineering & Technology team in Pune, India.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software components for TGW's global warehouse automation solutions. In addition to driving technical excellence, you will lead a team of software engineers, provide technical direction, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance applications.
WHAT YOU’LL BE HANDLING
Technical Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Develop responsive frontend applications using Angular (preferred) or React.
- Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and testable code following engineering best practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, Architects, and cross-functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Full Stack Software Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Drive technical decision-making, solution design, and engineering best practices across the team.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth of team members.
- Plan and allocate work, monitor team capacity, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to prioritize deliverables and manage project execution.
- Support hiring activities, including technical interviews, onboarding, and team development.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks while ensuring quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
- Promote Agile methodologies and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Required Skills
- 10–15 years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Angular (preferred) or React, along with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases; exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Design Patterns, Clean Code principles, and Unit Testing.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams and delivering complex enterprise applications.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or MQTT.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of warehouse automation, industrial software, or logistics domain is an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
